Chili le désert d'Atacama

Au nord du Chili sur une large bande, de Copiapo à Arica, s’étend sur près de mille kilomètres le désert d’Atacama. Depuis les débuts de la présence européenne, certains endroits n’ont jamais enregistré la moindre goutte de pluie. Dans ce décor naturel évoluent hommes, femmes, enfants. Ils sont originaires parfois de l’endroit, d’autres par choix ou raison sociale s’y sont parachutés. C’est leurs histoires qui interpellent, leurs modes de vies particuliers dans ce milieu géographique relativement hostile.

Atacama stretches over nearly a thousand kilometers. Since the beginning of European occupations, certain spots still haven’t seen one single drop of water. Men, women and children evolve in that beautiful natural scenery. Some of them come from


there, while others, having no other choice, had to settle down. Their story, their particular lifestyle in such an hostile world holds our attention. Whether they are fishermen, miners, farmers, Indians or anything else, Atacamenos or Southern Chileans, the simple bouncing of their activities or the environment around them take us to the encounter of magic historical sites.
